Description

You live in a cluster of islands during an age of growth. As Communities rapidly progress, their need for resources is heightened by a string of impending disasters. The devoted Suppliant must gather resources and deliver them to Communities while leading them away from danger. To aid them in their task, they implore an all-seeing Oracle to use divination bones to ask the gods to reveal the future. Together, they must face these omens if they wish to guarantee a healthy and prosperous world.

Omen Isles is an asymmetric cooperative game for two players. One player is the Suppliant, traveling around the isles, picking up resources, and delivering them to communities. The other player is the Oracle who can read bones and see what disasters await the isles. The Oracle must use the information gained to warn the Suppliant so that together they can keep the communities safe. If, after four disasters, all three communities remain prosperous, they win!

Gameplay

Play alternates between the Suppliant and Oracle taking turns.

The Suppliant

Build Shrine

The Suppliant can rotate cards and layer them so that the icons on the edges align in a desired manner.

Earn Actions

These icons translate to actions the Suppliant can use on their turn.

Deliver Resources

With the actions, the Suppliant must generate resources and travel among the isles to provide the goods that the communities need in order to prosper.

Delivering development to the temple gives the Suppliant bonuses that will help with their task.

The Oracle

Build Shrine

The Oracle is building a shrine of their own, but they are interested in the bones in the centers.

Earn Bones

Picture
The Oracle receives bones from the card placed cascading down through to the bottom of the shrine.

Play Visions

Picture
By reading the bones, the Oracle can give hints to the Suppliant on what disasters are imminent.

The Oracle must be careful. Digging for certain visions may lead to cracks in their shrine making the future more difficult to predict.

Game End

The game ends after both the Suppliant and Oracle have finished building their shrines. If all three communities are at or beyond a minimum level of prosperity, the players win. Otherwise, they lose.
